A permanent chief operating officer has been announced at Singing River Health System, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast medical group did not go far to make the hire.

The system’s Board of Trustees on Thursday announced the appointment of Laurin St. Pe’, who had been serving as interim CEO since June, to hold the position on a permanent basis.

“We are thrilled to announce Laurin St. Pe as the new CEO of Singing River,” SRHS Board President Steve Ates said. “His wealth of healthcare experience and proven track record make him the ideal leader to steer our health system toward its next phase of growth and success.”

The new CEO’s journey includes time as administrator of the system’s Pascagoula and Gulfport hospitals, in addition to overseeing program service lines throughout the entire system to his subsequent appointment as Chief Operating Officer of SRHS.

“I am honored to assume the role of CEO at Singing River,” St. Pe’ said. “Together with our dedicated team, we will continue our mission to improve health, save lives, and provide exceptional healthcare services to the Mississippi Gulf Coast communities.”

St. Pe’ played a role in the financial revitalization of the medical group while steering the organization toward financial stability.

He will begin operating in the newly implemented role effective immediately.
