A sixth suspect has been taken into custody for their connection to a shooting that occurred in Jackson County in November.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, 44-year-old Ricky Dale Reed was arrested Sunday night after being stopped by Ocean Springs police on Highway 90.

The Vancleave native had allegedly been attempting to hide 43-year-old Tanisha Gayle Chiasson at his home before her arrest last week. Chiasson was later charged with accessory after the fact and had her bond set at $150,000 following an initial hearing.

Reed has been charged with hindering prosecution, as well as possession of a controlled substance after officers found meth in his vehicle. His bond has been set at $10,000 for the hindering prosecution charge and $25,000 for the meth charge.

Four other suspects have already been charged in connection to the incident, which took place around 5:00 p.m. on November 22 on Scott Street in the Latimer community. The suspects fled the scene shortly after officers arrived before crashing into a delivery truck and running into a nearby wooded area.

Matt Fletcher, 18, was taken into custody that same night and charged with shooting into a motor vehicle. He was then transported to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center, where his bond was set at $250,000.

Officials later released that the three additional suspects included an unidentified 13-year-old, a 16-year-old charged with shooting into a motor vehicle, and 33-year-old Jaclyn Nicole Sisti, who was wanted for accessory after the fact.

No injuries were reported from the shooting.
