Sleeping man hit by train in Pascagoula – arm and legs severed

Wednesday night, Pascagoula Police were dispatched to the railroad tracks near Hospital Road regarding a pedestrian who had been hit by a train.

When officers arrived on scene they found a 63-year-old man who had been hit causing one of his arms and both legs to be severed. Officers immediately applied tourniquets and the gentleman was taken to Singing River Hospital and then air lifted to USA University Hospital in Mobile, AL.

No names are being released at this time. An initial investigation revealed the victim was sleeping on the railroad tracks.  The investigation is ongoing.
