With the Major League Baseball Draft set to begin Sunday, Southern Miss All-American pitcher Tanner Hall is hoping to hear his name called sooner rather than later.

Hall is the No. 92 ranked player in this year’s draft and is expected to be selected within the first three rounds. The right-handed ace said on Friday’s episode of the Eagle Hour that he has no preference as to where he would like to land.

“It doesn’t matter to me. I’ll go anywhere and play baseball,” Hall said.

As for who will end up selecting Hall, the Zachary, La. native spoke with representatives from 13 teams at the draft combine held last month in Arizona. Though each club showed interest, none separated themselves from the pack in terms of giving Hall an idea of where his next destination will be.

“All of them kind of asked me the same thing. I think it’s just them trying to get to know you without them showing how bad they want you at the same time,” Hall added. “There was no one specifically that has been saying that they specifically want me at this time. So I guess we will find out.”

Last season, Hall posted a 12-4 record with a 2.48 ERA and 124 strikeouts, leading the Golden Eagles to their second consecutive super regional appearance.

If Hall is selected within the first three rounds, it will be the fifth time in six years that Southern Miss has produced a top-three-rounds pick.

The 2023 MLB Draft is set to take place in Seattle, Wash. from Sunday, July 9 to Tuesday, July 11.
