It didnβt take long for the accolades to start rolling into Hattiesburg.
Coming off a stellar opening day performance on Friday, Southern Miss pitcher Niko Mazza was named this seasonβs inaugural Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week.

The right-handed junior out of Madison-Ridgeland Academy gave the Golden Eagles what they needed to win their 11th straight opening day game, tossing 5.1 innings with no earned runs and eight strikeouts.
This is the second time Mazza has won the award after receiving the honor on March 14, 2023.
Southern Miss (3-1) will be back in action on Wednesday at the University of New Orleans (2-1). First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. CT at Maestri Field.
