Following two rain delays, game one of the 2023 Hattiesburg Super Regional has been suspended and will resume Sunday morning.

Southern Miss and Tennessee will pick up in the bottom of the fifth inning at 11 a.m. CT with the score at 4-0 in favor of the Golden Eagles. Game two will begin at 2 p.m. CT or 55 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

In the five and a half innings that were squeezed in on Saturday, it was a home run party for Southern Miss who saw long balls from both Dustin Dickerson and Nick Monistere. Tate Parker originally got the Golden Eagles going with a two-RBI triple in the top of the first inning.

The first delay occurred in the bottom of the fourth inning, lasting an hour and a half. The second delay went on for nearly three hours as coaches from both sides made the decision to continue the game on Sunday.

Southern Miss starting pitcher Billy Oldham was in the middle of a gem of a performance when the game was halted, allowing just two hits while striking out five.

Gates will open Sunday two hours before first pitch.
