SuperTalk Mississippi Media is excited to announce the hiring of J.T. Mitchell as news director for SuperTalk Mississippi News.
Mitchell previously worked as a multimedia journalist and digital specialist with News Mississippi and SuperTalk Mississippi Media from 2019-21. During that time, he not only surpassed his responsibilities as a journalist, but he designed and oversaw the creation of the company’s current website. Mitchell has also worked as an editor for Gulf Coast-based e-magazine Our Mississippi Home.
“When Kim Dillon and Steve Davenport reached out to me about this position, I was blown away – honored actually,” Mitchell said. “The company already has a great news team, and I look forward to working together to bring Mississippians timely, hard-hitting, and accurate news from across the state.”
Mitchell received his education from Sewanee: The University of the South, where he studied English and philosophy and played on the school’s football team. He is the co-author of an educational book and has had freelance articles appear in publications across the state and country.
“We are excited to have J.T. lead the team here at SuperTalk Mississippi News,” SuperTalk Mississippi Media president and CEO Kim Dillon said. “His energy, hard work ethic, and attention to detail will move our company and news department forward as we welcome in a new year.”
Mitchell will be in charge of news programming on over 45 talk, music, and affiliate stations and on SuperTalk Mississippi News’ digital media platforms. Inquiries for news stories can be sent to Mitchell at [email protected].
