SuperTalk Mississippi Media and Palmer Home for Children are proud to announce that the 14th Annual SuperTalk Mississippi Radiothon benefiting Palmer Home raised more than $392,565 for the children in their care. The event was held Thursday on the Palmer Home campus outside of Hernando and featured impactful testimonies from children, staff, and supporters of Palmer Home.
Listeners from across the country tuned in to SuperTalk Mississippi throughout the day as Mornings with Richard Cross, MidDays with Gerard Gibert, Good Things with Rebecca Turner, and SportsTalk Mississippi, and guest interviews from the 131-year old nonprofit.
The day ended with $392,565 raised for Palmer Home for Children. Founded in 1895, Palmer Home serves children ages newborn through 24 years old regardless of race, gender, or background through four care settings: Campus Care, Family Care, Foster Care, and Transitional Care.
“Every child deserves a place to belong, a family to believe in them, and the opportunity to dream about their future,” said Drake Bassett, President & CEO of Palmer Home for Children. “For 14 years, SuperTalk Mississippi listeners have made that possible for hundreds of children through their incredible generosity. Together, we are restoring hope and changing lives. We are so grateful for our listeners who painted the state green this year and help us continue this mission.”
In 2013, SuperTalk Mississippi declared Palmer Home for Children as the network’s charity of choice and established the annual Radiothon to support the basic operational needs of the organization. Since its inception, the annual event has raised over $3 million for the children at Palmer Home.
“For 14 years, Radiothon has been one of the most meaningful days on our calendar at SuperTalk Mississippi Media,” said Kim Dillon, President and CEO of SuperTalk Mississippi Media. “We set aside our regular programming to shine a light on the life-changing work happening every day at Palmer Home for Children. The overwhelming generosity of our listeners continues to make a lasting difference, and we’re honored to partner with Palmer Home to help provide hope, healing, and a safe home for children who need it most.
Donations to Palmer Home are still welcome and can be made at any time. To make a one-time donation, or to learn how to make a monthly donation and become a Palmer Hero, visit palmerhome.org/donate.
