Grammy Museum Mississippi will be shimmering for a bit longer with the second continuation of its Taylor Swift exhibit being announced over the weekend.
“Taylor Swift Through The Eras” has been open since August 2024 and was originally supposed to close in February. But flocks of ‘Swifties’ taking visits to the museum in Cleveland saw it extended until Aug. 31, 2025. Apparently, enough fans wanted it to stick around that it will now be open through Dec. 14, one day after Swift’s 36th birthday.
“We have extended Taylor Swift through her birthday,” Grammy Museum Mississippi executive director Emily Havens said. “We’re going to celebrate her throughout the fall, her engagement, and all the things Taylor right up to her birthday in December.”
Throughout her 18-year career, Swift has won 14 Grammys and is the only artist to win four Album of the Year awards. She wrapped up her Eras Tour last December, breaking an all-time record for over $2 billion in ticket sales, and is now transitioning into her next era with the recent announcement of her 12th original studio album dropping this October.
The Swift-themed exhibit at Grammy Museum Mississippi, the only Grammy Museum apart from the original in Los Angeles, includes the following artifacts, instruments, and memorabilia representing each of Swift’s 11 eras to date:
- The BCBG Max Azria dress worn on tour in 2007
- Swift’s custom Taylor GS-6 “Sparkle Guitar” played throughout her Fearless Tour from 2009–2010
- A red sparkle top Gibson Les Paul played by Swift during her Speak Now World Tour
- Custom Marina Toybina ensemble and LaDuca boots worn during her performance of “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” at the Grammy Awards in 2013
- Custom Jessica Jones bodysuit and jacket and Christian Louboutin boots worn during her 2018 Reputation Stadium Tour
- Gibson J-180 played during Swift’s 2019 City of Lover concert in Paris, celebrating the release of her seventh studio album, Lover
- Oscar de la Renta dress and Christian Louboutin shoes worn at the GRAMMY Awards in 2021
- Stella McCartney coat worn by Swift on the cover of her 2020 album evermore
- Free People coat worn in the music video for “Lavender Haze”
- Maticevski gown and gloves worn in the music video for “Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)”
The extension of the Swift exhibit will not slow down the arrival of the museum’s “80’s Rock: The Wildest Decade in Music” exhibit, which opens to the general public on Friday. Memorabilia as part of the exhibit will include but not limited to a stage costume of Ozzy Osbourne’s, a drum kit used by Mötley Crüe, and a Guns N’ Roses guitar smashed by Slash himself.
“It’s one of my favorite genres, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve curated – all the great artifacts, the great bands, the great bands. It’s going to be a fun one,” Havens said. “I think the ’80s are back in a way, but for me, I don’t think know if they ever went away. I love the ’80s and we want people to come enjoy and relive their days with the great music, great hair, and wild outfits.”
Grammy Museum Mississippi is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the museum box office or online.
