Thousands without power in Mississippi following Monday’s severe storms

Thousands of Mississippi residents are currently without power following the severe storms that spanned across the state on Monday.

At this time, over 3,500 Mississippians are experiencing a power outage, with the majority of those being affected living in the southwestern part of the state.

Copiah County is currently experiencing the largest number of outages with approximately 2,100 customers showing a lack of power. Lincoln County has the second-highest amount of reported outages at a little over 270 customers.

Here’s the full list of counties currently experiencing power outages across the state:

  • Copiah – 2,163
  • Lincoln – 277
  • Wilkinson – 254
  • Walthall – 159
  • Pike – 114
  • Jefferson – 101
  • Grenada – 89
  • Adams – 77
  • Claiborne – 54
  • George – 34
  • Hinds – 31
  • Warren – 31
  • Lawrence – 17
