Today is National Voter Registration Day!
Ahead of November 5th’s general elections in Mississippi, the voter registration deadline is October 7th. To learn more about getting registered to vote, visit the Secretary of State’s website – sos.ms.gov
Prior to the runoff elections in August, more than 1.8 million Mississippians were registered to vote. According to the Secretary of State’s Office, census data estimates the state’s eligible voting-age population to be about 2.2 million.
Mississippi is one of just three states electing a new Governor in 2019. The Magnolia state will also elect a new Attorney General, Lt. Governor, Treasurer and Secretary of State. Several other statewide and local races will also be on the ballot for the general election.
