A trio of teens from Texas have been locked up for a string of auto burglaries in central Mississippi.
Richland Police Chief Nick McLendon reports that officers on Saturday were notified of numerous auto burglaries at commercial businesses within city limits.
Investigators were dispatched and started to collect evidence. During the investigation, officers determined that over 37 commercial motor vehicles were burglarized and their CPC modules were stolen — a total of roughly $200,000 in damages.
Investigators located a vehicle of interest involved in the burglaries and put out a metro area “be on the lookout.” Later that evening, the vehicle of interest was stopped by Madison police officers and the three occupants were detained for questioning.
Investigators discovered the suspects had a hotel room in Clinton. Immediate surveillance was conducted by members of the Clinton Police Department to prevent the stolen property from being moved.
Law enforcement executed search warrants on the suspect’s vehicle and the hotel room in Clinton and found over 60 stolen CPC modules along with burglary tools.
The suspects have since been identified as Anthony Gazzara Douglas III, Javon Catrell Noble, and Kenneth Demarion Lewis. They are currently locked up in the Rankin County Jail.
