We’re 117 days away from the 2026-27 Ole Miss football season kicking off, and fans now know when the Rebels will play some of their scheduled games.
On Tuesday, three time slots were announced by the SEC for Ole Miss football games, the first being the team’s opener versus Louisville in Nashville. Pete Golding’s regular-season debut as head coach will take place on Sunday, Sept. 6 in the Music City Kickoff, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. CT.
Two games later, Golding and company will be the main focus of the entire college football world as ex-Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and his LSU Tigers rolling into Oxford on Saturday, Sept. 19. The highly anticipated game is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT. Sources tell SuperTalk Mississippi News that ESPN’s “College GameDay” will be on the Ole Miss campus to preview that game.
Last but not least, the 123rd Egg Bowl versus arch-rival Mississippi State will once again be played on Black Friday, continuing a newfound tradition. The trophy game, being played this year in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, will begin at 11 a.m. CT on Nov. 27.
All three of the games announced on Tuesday will air on ABC and participating SuperTalk Mississippi stations. The entire TV schedule and kickoff times for the first three weeks of the upcoming campaign will be released on Wednesday, May 27, per conference officials.
The Rebels will begin things in the fall with Golding leading the charge after he navigated the team through its first-ever College Football Playoff run. Golding, with a rounded-out staff rife with former Ole Miss players and Mississippi natives, will have the backing of a star-studded returning cast featuring quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, running back Kewan Lacy, and linebacker Suntarine Perkins, among others.
