The Mississippi-based Warrior Bonfire Program, an organization dedicated to serving post-9/11 Purple Heart veterans, is set to host its annual Diamonds and Dogtags event on August 5.

The event, which will be held at the Reunion Country Club in Madison, will include dinner, live music, a silent auction, and will be headlined by guest speaker Joey Jones. Jones, a Marine veteran deployed twice during his eight years of active service, has served as a FOX News Media contributor since 2019, primarily discussing military analysis across the network’s various platforms.

“Combat wounded U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant (Ret.) Johnny ‘Joey’ Jones turned a traumatic, life-changing disability as a double amputee into a personal mission to improve the lives of all veterans by promoting resources and using various platforms to advocate for changes and needs,” Warrior Bonfire Program board member Lloyd Munn said. “At Diamonds and Dogtags, Joey will be sharing his story of resiliency, gratitude, and motivation to move forward.”

Founded by Army and Mississippi National Guard veteran Dan Fordice in 2013, the Warrior Bonfire Program has quickly grown into a national organization with a mission of providing opportunities and support to combat-wounded veterans.

According to Munn, the program does this through activity-based, small-group retreats such as hunting or ski trips. Munn said these retreats give veterans a chance to connect with others who have been through similar experiences.

“We’ll take six or ten, plus or minus, veterans on retreats and we like to say, ‘Pain here is joy multiplied,'” Munn explained. “We get them together, and it starts their networking of other people with similar backgrounds.”

Following each retreat, the Warrior Bonfire Program continues to support attendees by directing them to further resources and by including them in future events. So far, the Warrior Bonfire Program has put together nearly 160 retreats, serving over 1,000 veterans.

Tickets for Diamonds and Dogtags are available online until July 31. Prices are $50 for Warrior Bonfire Program members, $85 for singles, $150 for couples, and $600 for sponsored tables. All proceeds will go toward future retreats.
