Weekend weather rundown: 6-23-19

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across Mississippi.

In north Mississippi, mostly sunny skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will climb into the lower 90s and the highest heat index readings will range from 100 to 103. At night, expect partly cloudy skies, then becoming mostly cloudy. There will also be a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening and continuing after midnight. Lows will be in the lower 70s.

In central Mississippi, mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the lower to mid-90s and the heat index readings will again be anywhere from 101 to 106. Tonight, partly cloudy skies, then becoming mostly cloudy along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will dip down into the mid-70s.

In south Mississippi, mostly sunny today with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs for the day will reach the lower 90s and the heat index will once again be in the triple digits and range between 102 and 107. In the evening, mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will drop down into the mid to upper 70s.
