For the second straight year, William Carey University has been crowned the winningest college athletics program in Mississippi.
When combining records from all sports, the Crusaders topped other four-year schools like Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, and Jackson State with an overall win rate of 74%.

The Crusaders, who play in the NAIA, had the highest in-state winning percentages in women’s basketball, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming, and beach volleyball.
In addition to having the winningest athletic department in Mississippi, William Carey was this past athletic year’s winner of the SSAC Commissioner’s Cup. The cup is handed out to the most successful athletic department in the Southern States Athletic Conference has been won by the Crusaders for nine years in a row.
In 2024-25, 16 of 21 sports on campus at William Carey advanced to the postseason. The Crusaders posted SSAC championships in women’s cross country, women’s soccer, women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, women’s basketball, women’s golf, men’s tennis, women’s tennis, and baseball.
