A Winona city alderwoman is out on bond after being detained during a Tuesday city board meeting.

Ward 3 Alderwoman Sylvia Clark was arrested after she refused to leave following a heated exchange with Mayor Aaron Dees over remarks Clark made criticizing the city’s park employees.

Clark had previously made comments taking issue with their handling of money, particularly funds taken in from sports tournaments held in the city.

WONA-FM, a local Winona radio station and SuperTalk Mississippi News affiliate, reports that the employees accused of mishandling funds defended themselves at the board meeting but were repeatedly interrupted and shouted over by Clark.

After several failed attempts by the mayor to calm the alderwoman down accompanied by multiple warnings, police officers were asked to remove her from the meeting.

Clark did not comply with authorities and allegedly squeezed one of the officer’s testicles, resulting in a felony simple assault on a police officer charge.

She is also charged with disorderly conduct/failure to comply and resisting arrest. She was taken to the justice court building for an initial appearance and was released on an $888.50 bond
