The woman at the center of a deadly courthouse shooting in Mississippi has been denied bond.
Tanya Lindell Saucier will remain behind bars as she awaits trial for the murder of her estranged husband, James Ray Saucier, after Judge Steve Simpson rejected her request Tuesday to be released on bond.
In December 2024, Tanya was taken into custody for allegedly killing her husband outside the Pearl River County Courthouse in Poplarville. The two had been in court to finalize a divorce when Tanya is said to have shot James when he was exiting the building.
The killing happened months before James was set to stand trial for shooting Tanya in 2023. He had previously been charged with aggravated assault and domestic violence with a deadly weapon.
Tanya is being held at the Lamar County Jail. Her trial date has not been set.
