Dangerous heat stress conditions are likely across central and western portions of Mississippi Sunday into early next week. Heat indices greater than 105 degrees are expected and could peak up to 110 degrees. In east to northeast Mississippi, afternoon heat indices will climb near 105 degrees. Make sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if working outdoors.

Northern Mississippi–

Sunny today with highs in the upper 80s. Tonight will be mostly clear with lows in the upper 60s.

Central Mississippi–

Sunny today, with a slight chance of showers, thunderstorms, and highs in the lower 90s. Tonight will be mostly clear with the possibility of more showers and thunderstorms and lows in the upper 60s.

Southern Mississippi–

Mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through this afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 90s, with the highest heat index readings from 100 to 103. Partly cloudy tonight with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms, lows will be in the lower 70s.
