Severe storms capable of damaging winds to 70mph, tornadoes; some strong, and hail to golf ball size are likely Thursday afternoon over east Mississippi. A lesser threat will exist over the western half of Mississippi, northeast Louisiana, and southeast Arkansas.

Northern Mississippi

Expect showers and thunderstorms through this evening, some of which could be severe. Highs today will be near 70, with lows tonight in the lower to mid-30s.

Central Mississippi

Showers and thunderstorms will continue through tonight, some of those thunderstorms could be severe. Highs today will be in the lower to mid-70s, with lows tonight in the mid to upper 30s.

Southern Mississippi

Showers and thunderstorms will last through the night, and some thunderstorms could be severe. Highs today will be in the mid-70s, with lows tonight in the mid-40s.
