Dangerous heat will continue into the middle part of this week, mainly along and south of I-20 today, then expanding again Wednesday into Thursday. Heat-related illnesses remain likely with prolonged outdoor exposure. Frequent cooling and hydration breaks are recommended when working outdoors.

Northern Mississippi

Patchy fog this morning, then partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms through tonight. Highs today will be in the mid-80s, with lows in the lower 70s tonight.

Central Mississippi

Patchy fog in the morning, then partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms through tonight. Highs today will be in the lower 90s, with lows tonight in the mid-70s.

Southern Mississippi

Patchy morning fog, then mostly sunny with showers and thunderstorms possible through tonight. Highs will be in the upper 90s, with heat index readings anywhere from 114 to 119. Lows tonight will be in the upper 70s.
