Significant to extremely dangerous heat stress is expected this week with high temperatures in the upper 90s, increasing to the 100s late week degrees. Peak heat indices will top out between 110 to 115 degrees. Heat stroke will be imminent with prolonged outdoor activity. Stay hydrated and avoid strenuous outdoor activities.

Northern Mississippi–

Sunny today with highs in the lower to mid-90s. The highest heat index readings will be between 100 and 102. Mostly clear tonight, with lows in the lower 70s.

Central Mississippi–

Patchy morning fog, turning to sunshine with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon. Highs will be in the mid-90s, with heat index readings from 111 to 116. Mostly clear with lows in the mid-70s tonight.

Southern Mississippi–

Patchy morning fog, then mostly sunny with a slight chance of showers through this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90s with heat index readings from 116 to 121. Becoming clear tonight with lows in the mid to upper 70s.
