There is an elevated threat of dangerous heat stress over portions of MS as temperatures rise well into the 90s with heat indices peaking near 105. Fatigue and heat exhaustion will be possible with prolonged outdoor activity.

Northern Mississippi–

Partly sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through tonight. Highs in the lower 90s with heat index readings from 101 to 106. Lows tonight will be in the lower 70s.

Central Mississippi–

Mostly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms through this evening. Highs in the lower to mid-90s with heat index readings of 104 to 109. Lows in the lower 70s.

Southern Mississippi–

Patchy morning fog with a chance of showers and thunderstorms through tonight. Highs will be in the upper 80s with the highest heat index readings from 100 to 103. Lows tonight will be in the lower to mid-70s.
