Peak heat indices will range from 106 to 110 degrees along the interstate 55 corridor and points westward. Elsewhere, heat indices will rise to near 105 degrees. Heat stroke and heat exhaustion are likely with prolonged outdoor activity. Take frequent breaks and hydrate when working outdoors!

Northern Mississippi–

Sunny with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid-90s with heat index readings from 107 to 112.
Mostly clear with a slight chance of showers tonight, lows in the mid-70s.

Central Mississippi–

Patchy morning fog, then sunshine, and a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid-90s with heat index readings from 106 to 111.
Mostly clear with lows in the mid-70s tonight.

Southern Mississippi–

Patchy morning fog turning to sunshine with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through tonight. Highs will be in the low to mid-90s with heat index readings from 106 to 111.
Lows tonight will be in the mid-70s.
