2 inmates discovered missing during headcount at Raymond Detention Center

Authorities are searching for two inmates after they escaped the Raymond Detention Center over the weekend.

According to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones, Michael Lewis, 31, and Joseph Spring, 31, were both missing from Monday morning’s headcount. A breach was later located along the jail’s fence line.

Spring was originally taken into custody in November for violation of parole as well as burglary charges, while Lewis has been at the Raymond Detention Center since December on DUI and marijuana possession charges.
