Southern Miss jumped in the polls after sweeping its third straight Sun Belt series, while Ole Miss dropped out via a series loss to rival Mississippi State.
The latest edition of the D1Baseball’s Top 25, released Monday, saw Southern Miss move two spots from No. 21 to No. 19. The Golden Eagles (38-13, 21-6 Sun Belt) were down in each game against Louisiana over the weekend but surged back to keep their winning streak alive, now at 12 games.

The Rebels (34-17, 14-13 SEC), who were ranked No. 24 going into last week, dropped out of the polls for the first time since initially being included on Feb. 24. Mike Bianco’s group won the first game of a Friday doubleheader, before dropping the final two. Ole Miss has now lost two SEC series in a row, after dropping two of three against Oklahoma last weekend, and have dropped four of its last five conference series.
While Mississippi State (31-20, 12-15) remains unranked, the Bulldogs have seen a resurgence since firing head coach Chris Lemonis. Under interim head coach Justin Parker, the team is 6-1 and making a late-season push for a regional berth.
