Law enforcement officials are investigating an alleged sexual assault at Louisville High School.
Police took a 16-year-old student accused of committing sex crimes against a 12-year-old into custody on Monday. The alleged perpetrator is charged with rape, aggravated assault, and intimidating a witness.
The victim was transported to Winston Medical Center for an evaluation and treatment and has since been transported to a hospital in Jackson.
Meanwhile, the suspect appeared in court on Tuesday and was given a $450,000 bond. No further information is being released at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation into this case, along with the ages of those involved.
