A 14-year-old is accused of shooting an 8-year-old in Warren County.
Local law enforcement authorities said gunfire rang out on Abraham Drive just before 4 p.m. on Monday. The unidentified teenager was taken into custody for allegedly shooting the female child. Police say they recovered a weapon believed to have been used in the shooting at the scene.
The victim was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, and her condition has not been made public at this time.
Officials have not yet established a motive for the shooting, and the suspect’s charges have not been announced at this time.
