Ole Miss men’s golf headman Chris Malloy highlighted Thursday’s all-conference honors by being named the SEC Coach of the Year, while a pair of Rebels were recognized for their accomplishments.
Along with Malloy being named the league’s top coach, Rebel golfer Tom Fischer earned first team All-SEC honors, while his teammate, Cameron Tankersly, was featured on the second team. The trio played a pivotal role in the Rebels winning their first SEC championship in 41 years this season.
Malloy becomes just the second coach in program history, joining Ernest Ross (1982, ’84) to earn SEC Coach of the Year honors. In 2025-26, Malloy has guided the Rebels to a No. 10 national ranking and the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Bermuda Run Regional.
The Rebels have finished inside the top five nine times, which includes three team titles, highlighted by the program’s second-ever SEC title and first since 1984. Five players have at least one top-10 finish with four tallying at least one top five.
Malloy has orchestrated a senior trio of Fischer, Tankersley and Cohen Trolio, who all rank inside the top 55 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings and the top 20 of PGA TOUR U.
Fischer becomes the 15th first team All-SEC selection in program history. The Birmingham, Ala. native has had a strong showing this year which includes an individual win, four top-10 finishes and 10 top 20s. He leads the team in scoring average (69.80), rounds even/below par (24), round under-par (21) and is tied for the most rounds in the 60s (11). It is the second All-SEC nod for Fischer after earning second team honors a season ago.
Tankersley also boasts a solid senior resume, securing his first win on the collegiate circuit this past fall at the inaugural playing of the Invitational at the Honors Course. Tankersley is second among the Rebels in scoring average (70.63), rounds even/below par (20), rounds under-par (16) and is tied with Fischer for a team best 11 rounds in the 60s.
Malloy, Fischer and Tankersley will look to guide the Rebels in the upcoming NCAA Regionals beginning on May 18, where Ole Miss is features as a No. 2 seed in the Bermuda Run Regional.
