We’re now 86 days away from college football kicking off in Hattiesburg, and Southern Miss fans now know when some of the Golden Eagles’ games will be played in the upcoming season.
It was a tough blow for the Golden Eagles to lose head coach Charles Huff to Memphis, who helped Southern Miss earn its first winning record and bowl game appearance since 2022. But the team is now under the guidance of former offensive coordinator and first-year head coach Blake Anderson, who will look to build upon the momentum garnered in The Rock.
Golden Eagle fans recently got a closer look at how year one of the Anderson era will shape up schedule-wise, with five TV slots being announced.
The Golden Eagles will open the 2026 campaign at home against the Alcorn State Braves on Sept. 5. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ at 4 p.m. Southern miss will leave M.M. Roberts Stadium the next week to face an SEC opponent. The Auburn Tigers will host the Golden Eagles at either 6:30 p.m. or 6:45 p.m. and the game will stream on ESPNU or SEC Network.
Week three brings Southern Miss back home for their game against UConn at 6 p.m. on Sept. 19. Like the Alcorn State game, the Golden Eagles’ second home game will also stream on ESPN+
The first Sun Belt Conference game of the season will take place at Troy on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. Viewers can watch that game on ESPN2.
The final posted game time so far is a home conference matchup against James Madison, led by first-year coach Billy Napier. That matchup will be on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m., airing on either ESPN or ESPN2.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until 12 days prior to the next matchup before receiving the other Southern Miss football times and networks for the 2026 season due to the Sun Belt Conference’s “12-day out policy.”
