Mississippi is finally putting another piece in place on its retail landscape: the state is getting its first official LEGO Store.
LEGO is set to locate in Ridgeland at the Renaissance at Colony Park outdoor shopping mall. Several industry sources confirmed to The Clarion-Ledger that the world’s largest toy manufacturer will take over the space currently occupied by Apple once the technology company relocates later this month.
The Ridgeland location will not only be Mississippi’s first official LEGO Store, but it will also spare residents from driving to Metairie, Louisiana; Huntsville, Alabama; or Little Rock, Arkansas, to visit the nearest company-owned LEGO store.

Unlike traditional LEGO retailers, LEGO Stores offer exclusive and hard-to-find sets. They feature interactive experiences, including the ability to earn and redeem LEGO Insiders rewards in store, Pick & Build Walls where customers can fill containers with individual bricks, and Build a Minifigure Stations where customers can mix and match pieces to create custom LEGO figures. Stores also offer special in-person events.
“From the widest assortment and sets you can’t find anywhere else to seasonal items for holidays and special occasions, there’s more to discover on every shelf at The LEGO Store,” the company’s website says. “You can build at a play table, create a model and take it home with you at a Make and Take Event or flex your imagination muscles at one of our Creativity Workshops. There’s plenty to experience outside the box at The LEGO Store.”

Apple, on the other hand, has confirmed it will be moving to a new location at Renaissance. Its grand opening for the new store, which will be near the Show Fountain and Malco movie theater on the north end of the mall, is scheduled for July 24.

“The original store opened nearly 20 years ago, and we’re so excited to unveil this new and upgraded store, relocated to a bigger and better space just steps away from the existing location,” Apple said in a news release.
It is unclear when the LEGO Store in Ridgeland would open. Neither LEGO nor Renaissance at Colony Park responded to a request for comment by the time of publication.
