More than a month after a body was found burned and wrapped in a tarp in Greenville, the victim has been identified.
On July 21, officers from the Greenville Police Department responded after a passerby reported seeing a body alongside a roadway on Thornton Street. Upon arrival, officers located the body, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death began.
The deceased was identified Monday as Robert Elliott.
“The Greenville Police Department is asking for the community’s help in bringing justice to Robert Elliott and his family,” the Greenville Police Department said in a statement. “Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area, or who may have information concerning this case — no matter how insignificant it may seem — is strongly encouraged to come forward.”
