More details have been announced for former President Bill Clinton’s trip to Tupelo to campaign for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Scott Colom.
On Wednesday, political action committee Mississippi Forward announced that the 42nd president will be the next power player within the national Democratic party to make their way to Mississippi in an attempt to help Colom in his bid to unseat Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith.
On Thursday morning, SuperTalk Mississippi News received additional confirmation of details, including the event’s location, time, and additional guests.

What’s being described as a “community conversation” will be held at the Link Centre on West Main Street in Tupelo on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Clinton plans to not only campaign for Colom but also for other Democratic candidates on the ballot in Mississippi, including U.S. House hopeful Cliff Williams in his bid to unseat District 1’s Republican Trent Kelly.
Tickets for the free event are available here.
“I am honored President Clinton is coming to Tupelo to highlight the issues that matter most for Mississippians, from the rising cost of gas and groceries to the negative impact tariffs are having on our farmers and small businesses,” Colom said in a statement. “Those are the same issues Trump voters talked to me about when I walked the line of the Trump rally on Monday, and it’s why I know Mississippians are ready for fire Cindy High Prices on Nov. 3.”
Other special guests who will be at the event include political strategist James Carville, who will moderate the conversation, former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, state Rep. Justin Crosby, D-Aberdeen, former Mississippi Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley, and Tupelo Councilwoman Rose Jones.

Clinton joins other White House alums on the campaign trail for Colom, including former Vice President Kamala Harris, who was in Columbus last week for a rally. Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg stumped for Colom on the Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday.
Former President Barack Obama cut a commercial for Colom earlier this month, saying, “Mississippi, it’s time for a change, and that’s why you need to send Scott Colom to the Senate.”
