All aboard! Christmas is rapidly approaching, and the Canadian Pacific Kansas City railway will bring its holiday train to Mississippi to spread seasonal cheer.
CPKC uses its holiday train tours to raise money, food, and awareness for the work that food banks do in their communities. Professional musicians play free concerts from the brightly decorated train’s stage. The rail company donates to the local food shelf at each stop and encourages attendees to also give to those in need.
This year’s holiday train will make the following Mississippi stops:
- Meridian — Dec. 1 at 1805 Front Street, park adjacent to Meridian Railroad Museum and Union Station
- Jackson — Dec. 1 at 360 Industrial Park Drive, old Jackson intermodal yard
- Vicksburg — Dec. 2 at 1001 Levee Street at Grove Street, next to the Old Depot Museum
Special music guests at the Mississippi stops include country singer Chase Rice and folk-pop performer Madeline Edwards. The holiday train is free to attend.
