Body cam video from officer-involved shooting in Oxford

Oxford shooter

The Oxford Police Department has released body cam video from what appears to be a domestic-related incident on Wednesday night.

Oxford Police Chief, Jeff Mccutchen, provided an overview of the events which occurred that night.  Mccutchen first stated that domestic violence calls are unfortunately all too common and present some of the greatest dangers to law enforcement.  “Officers do not know what they are about to encounter, and the incidents are usually very volatile.”

You can view the statements of Chief Mccutchen, hear the initial 9-1-1 call from a resident of the apartment complex who observed a woman in distress, and view the footage of officers entering the apartment.  Warning:  Some audio and images may not be suitable for some viewers.

The incident is now being investigated by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
