Aluminum Dynamics once announced the largest economic development commitment in the state of Mississippi when it revealed plans in 2023 to build a $2.5 billion facility in the Golden Triangle. Well, that commitment has grown with the company expected to spend an additional $200 million in the region.
Gov. Tate Reeves announced Tuesday that Aluminum Dynamics is planning to create 100 new jobs with its latest investment. The company is developing the facility in the Golden Triangle Industrial Park in Lowndes County. It will serve to create aluminum slabs from recycled scrap.
“Mississippi continues to be a leader in American manufacturing. Aluminum Dynamics’ decision to once again invest in Mississippi is a powerful example of our state’s unprecedented momentum,” Reeves said.
“This $200 million project will bring 100 good jobs to the Golden Triangle while building on its impressive reputation as one of the nation’s premier locations for advanced manufacturing,” he continued. “I appreciate Aluminum Dynamics’ continued confidence in Mississippi and the partnership that made this project possible.”
“Aluminum Dynamics’ planned investment in the Golden Triangle is another example of what’s possible when you have a strong workforce, solid infrastructure and partners who are committed to long-term success,” Golden Triangle Development LINK President and CEO Meryl Fisackerly said. “This project creates new opportunities for our communities and we appreciate Aluminum Dynamics’ confidence in the Golden Triangle.”
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing monetary assistance for direct road and rail infrastructure improvements related to the project. The project also qualifies for tax incentives through the Mississippi Major Economic Impact Authority program. Lowndes County is also chipping in.
