One person is dead and a suspect is in custody after a shooting at Ingalls Shipbuilding on Friday morning.
Officials with the Pascagoula Police Department said gunfire rang out at the shipyard at 7:32 a.m. Ingalls alerted all employees to sheltered in place due to an active shooter situation.
Around 9 a.m., police confirmed to SuperTalk Mississippi News that a suspect was taken into custody. Neither the identity of the suspect nor the deceased is being released at this time.
Law enforcement is still on the scene. This is a developing story that will be updated.
