Ole Miss forward Cotie McMahon headlined Mississippi’s representation in the postseason All-SEC honors, which were announced Tuesday.
McMahon, an Ohio State transfer, was named the Rebels’ first-ever conference newcomer of the year and was also a first-team selection after a successful regular season under coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin’s leadership. In her senior campaign, McMahon is averaging 19.9 points on a 45.3% shooting clip, while grabbing 5.4 rebounds and dishing 2.9 assists per game.
Starting in every game for Ole Miss (21-10, 8-8 SEC), McMahon now has 17 games of at least 20 points, tying for the third most in a single season in program history. The Ohio native has been recognized for 15 awards and watchlists this season, notably serving as a finalist for the Naismith Trophy, Wooden Award, and Cheryl Miller Award. No stranger to postseason accolades, McMahon earned first-team All-Big Ten recognition twice, along with freshman of the year honors in 2023, when at Ohio State.
Mississippi State (18-12, 5-11 SEC), like Ole Miss, was only represented by one player in this year’s conference awards. Bulldog forward Madison Francis was named to the SEC’s all-defensive and all-freshman teams. Francis, a native of New York, was effective on both sides of the floor, averaging a team-best 13.4 points and 2.8 blocks per game.

Both Ole Miss and Mississippi State ended the regular season on a four-game losing streak, but will look to build momentum in the upcoming SEC Tournament. The No. 13 seed Bulldogs will take on No. 12 seed Florida on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. CT. The No. 6 Rebels will get a first-round bye and face either No. 10 seed Texas A&M or No. 15 seed Auburn on Thursday at 5 p.m. CT.
As for March Madness prospects, ESPN currently projects Ole Miss to be a No. 6 seed, while Mississippi State is listed as the last team to get into the Big Dance.
