Cotton Blues: Mississippi Made

Cotton Blues is a casual family restaurant that is Mississippi made to its core. From investing in local people, locally sourced ingredients, and keeping it’s “New York Approved” cheesecake manufactured in the Magnolia State, Chris Ortego, owner, and founder, of Cotton Blues, believes in all that Mississippi has to offer his customers.

When Jon Quinones and the ”What Would You Do” crew asked to use Cotton Blues to film for an episode, Chris Ortego didn’t shy away from the opporutniy. ABC’s hit TV-show is known for sensitive subjects. Chris viewed it as a chance to allow Mississippi’s true (positive) colors shine through the misperceptions of our great state.

Chris Ortego joined Rebecca Turner on Good Things and chatted about everything from cheesecakes to rabbit egg rolls and the secret ingredient to his restauranteur success. Spoiler: It’s the people in Mississippi!
