On New Year’s Day, a deer hunter discovered a human skull in Perry County.

The deer hunter was walking through a wooded area when he came across the skull.

The Perry County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene, and with the help of the Hattiesburg Crime Scene Unit, they were able to determine that the skull, in fact, was from a human.

The skull has since been collected and sent to a crime lab to determine the gender.

This is a developing story.
