Incident At A South Pontotoc Middle School Basketball Game Is Under Investigation

An incident that was originally labeled as “hazing” is now being called “assault.”

No official word of what exactly happened at the South Pontotoc Middle School basketball game has been released.

Pontotoc County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Brock Puckett, says that Child Protective Services, the sheriff’s department, and the school district are investigating this case.

Pontotoc County Sherriff Leo Mask has not provided any specifics because the case does involve minors.

Mask also said that the parents brought this to the administration’s attention and have been kept informed.
