There’s been a change in the schedule for the Mississippi Mudbug Festival following the arrest of season 17 American Idol winner Laine Hardy.

Hardy, who was expected to perform tonight at the festival, turned himself in to the LSU police department this morning after an arrest warrant was issued.

According to the arrest warrant, Hardy is accused of “15:1303−Interception and Disclosure of Wire, Electronic, or Oral Communication.”

The accusations come from a female who had been in a previous relationship with Hardy after she found a recording device resembling a phone charger underneath her futon on LSU’s campus on April 6.

Over ten days of recorded conversations from February were found on the device by police, leading to the warrant for the musician’s arrest.

Before turning himself in to LSUPD this morning, Hardy updated his fans of the allegations over Facebook, asking for privacy at this time.

Currently, Hardy has been booked by the East Baton Rouge Parish Police with more details to be released at a later date.

As for the Mississippi Mudbug Festival, the schedule has been adjusted “due to an unforeseen personal responsibility.”
