After climbing to $1 million for the first time ever nearly a year ago, the Mississippi Match 5 jackpot is halfway there – unless someone wins it this weekend.
The Mississippi Lottery Corporation announced Friday morning that Thursday night’s drawing saw no winners, pushing the local draw game’s grand prize to an estimated $500,000.
“Players now have a chance at half a million dollars for just $2 per play,” MLC noted. “For an additional $1, players can add the multiplier feature to increase non-jackpot winnings.”
Numbers are drawn each night for Mississippi Match 5, meaning a winner could come as soon as Friday night. If not, a larger jackpot will be up for grabs on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased at authorized retailers statewide.

Drawings happen each night at 9:30 p.m. CT and can be viewed on MLC’s official website or mobile app.
The last time the Mississippi Match 5 jackpot was won was in January when a Sandersville player nabbed $54,000. The game’s largest ever jackpot – eventually landing at $1.2 million – was won by a player in Columbus last May.
