Mississippi Match 5 jackpot jumps to second-highest in game’s history

The Mississippi Match 5 jackpot has reached the second-largest prize in the lottery’s history, with the jackpot rising to $655,000 ahead of the Tuesday, January 31 drawing.

At this time, the highest jackpot in Mississippi Match 5 history totaled in at $665,000, which was hit in July of 2021. So far, there’s been 21 total drawings in the current jackpot run, with December 10, 2022, being the last time a ticketholder walked away with the grand prize.

During Saturday’s drawing, 51 tickets matched four out of five winning numbers, receiving prizes ranging from $200 to $1,000. Additionally, 2,065 tickets matching three out of five winning numbers were sold, as well as 18,979 tickets matching two out of five winning numbers.

Monday night’s jackpot for the Powerball drawing has begun again at an estimated $613 million, with an estimated cash value of $329 million. Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing has also risen, with the jackpot totaling in at an estimated $31 million.

There are still two unclaimed tickets purchased in Mississippi for a Powerball and Mega Millions drawing. The $500,000 ticket was purchased in McComb from the August 13 Powerball drawing is set to expire on February 9. The additional $4 million ticket purchased in Byram from the January 3 Mega Millions drawing will expire on July 2.
