A state trooper was injured during a Saturday motorcycle crash and is being treated for his injuries, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
DPS officials are asking the public for “thoughts and prayers” after Trooper Tavon Moore was involved in a crash on the exit ramp at the intersection of Highway 67 and Highway 605 in Harrison County. Moore was on his patrol motorcycle when he ended up off the road and near a ditch, according to the Sun Herald.
“Please join us in keeping one of our own, Trooper Tavon Moore, in your thoughts and prayers,” a social media post from DPS reads. “He was involved in an on-duty accident on the Coast. We are praying for a full and speedy recovery.”
Moore was transported to Gulfport Memorial Hospital before being transferred to University Medical Center in New Orleans. He is in stable condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
