Mississippi’s Coronavirus Total Now at 2,260

According to the state health department website, 257 new cases were reported from yesterday bringing the state’s total up to 2,260.

This is the biggest spike of numbers we have seen on a day to day basis.

76 people have died as a result of COVID-19 complications. 9 new deaths were reported yesterday.

Only 29% of people are hospitalized in the state and 70% are not. There is 1% unknown.

There have been 44 outbreaks at long term care facilities across the state.

In all, 20,370 individuals have been tested across the state and Issaquena county is the only county in Mississippi that has not reported a positive case of the virus.
