MSDH confirms 101 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 101 new cases of COVID-19. 

As the trend of lower reports on Mondays continues, the state’s total case count rises to 300,881. With the confirmation of 2 additional deaths, 6,903 Mississippians have passed away from the virus. 

Overall hospitalizations have dipped below 300, and active outbreaks in Mississippi long-term care facilities have dropped to 44. 

Recovery figures have not yet been updated for this week. 

To date, Mississippi has administered a total of 885,799 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Appointments remain available at covidvaccine.umc.edu. Starting tomorrow, vaccine eligibility will be opened up to all Mississippians.
