The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 1,167 new cases of COVID-19.

Today’s report—which follows the trend of lower case reports on Mondays—brings the state’s total up 195,500. With the confirmation of 2 additional deaths, 4,411 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus.

Hospital data has not yet been updated, but heading into the weekend, overall hospitalizations remained above 1,200.

Last week, Mississippi’s first 25,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived at hospitals across the state. The Moderna vaccine was recently approved by the FDA, and State Epidemiologist Dr. Paul Byers stated that Mississippi would receive around 50,000 initial doses of the second vaccine. Healthcare workers are the first to get the shots and long-term care residents and workers will be up next.

The MSDH has listed out details of its vaccination plan, here.

Currently, 61 of Mississippi’s 82 counties are under a mask mandate.

Adams, Alcorn, Amite, Attala, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clarke, Clay, Coahoma, Copiah, Covington, De Soto, Forrest, Franklin, Grenada, Harrison, Hinds, Holmes, Itawamba, Jackson, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Kemper, Lafayette, Lamar, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Lee, Leflore, Lincoln, Lowndes, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Neshoba, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pearl River, Perry, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Rankin, Scott, Simpson, Stone, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Union, Washington, Webster, Winston, Yalobusha, and Yazoo.
