MSDH confirms 1,256 new COVID-19 cases, 17 deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting 1,256 new cases of COVID-19. 

Today’s report brings the state’s total number of cases up to 129,394. With the confirmation of 17 additional deaths, 3,497 Mississippians have now passed away from the virus. 

*MSDH Note: 2 COVID-19 related deaths occurred between November 1 and November 2, identified from death certificate reports.

In the latest report from the MSDH, overall hospitalizations saw another slight increase. 

The number of active outbreaks in Mississippi long-term care facilities rose to 123.

Earlier today, Governor Tate Reeves amended and extended his “Safe Recovery” order to include 15 counties.

Benton, Carroll, Covington, DeSoto, Forrest, Harrison, Humphreys, Jackson, Lamar, Lauderdale, Leflore, Lee, Marshall, Rankin, and Yalobusha.
