MSDH confirms 136 new COVID-19 cases, 7 additional deaths

The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting less than 200 new cases of COVID-19. 

The confirmation of 136 new cases brings the state’s total number of cases up to 11,432. 528 Mississippians have tragically passed away due to the virus following this morning’s report of 7 additional deaths. 

*MSDH Note – 2 confirmed COVID-19 related deaths on May 5 were identified through death certificate reports. 

This morning, the MSDH also updated its recovery estimate to reflect that nearly 7,700 people in Mississippi have recovered from COVID-19.
